The daughter of a prolific abstract artist and ceramicist, Jane has studied various fine art disciplines, formally and informally, her entire life. Jane began taking photographs 23 years ago following the birth of her first child. Her early years focused on mastery of film images, finding herself in a darkroom for hours at a time; however, she has embraced the digital age in photography. Jane has been a professional photographer for almost 20 years specializing in family portraiture, bnai mitzvah and wedding photography. In addition, over the last several years, Jane has gone back to her roots and started painting again. She gets her inspiration from her abundance of landscape photographs taken over the last quarter of a century. Currently, she is painting acrylics on canvas, painting for herself as well as doing commission work.

Jane received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutger’s University in 1986 and her Masters of Business Administration from New York University in 1990. She went on to study photography at the International Center of Photography in NYC, the Silvermine School of Art, the Photographer’s Workplace, both in CT, and the Maine and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. Jane’s numerous awards over the last several years include: 1st place and honorable mention from Westport Magazine, and two 3rd place awards at the Norwalk Camera Club’s competitions. Jane was accepted into the following shows: Silvermine in 2001,“Focus’02” and “Focus’09” by the Wilton Arts Council, the 28th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and the Ridgefield 300th Anniversary Exhibit.
